An ASX-linked private enterprise at the forefront of Melbourne’s property development sector is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join its South Yarra headquarters. This newly created role offers the opportunity to partner with the CEO and Board, driving financial strategy and shaping the next phase of ambitious growth.

Our client is a highly successful and well-capitalised developer with a diversified portfolio spanning premium mixed-use, residential, and commercial projects. Operating with a small executive team, the organisation prides itself on nimbleness, innovation, and delivering exceptional outcomes for investors, partners, and communities.
The role
As CFO, you will operate as a key strategic leader, responsible for financial governance, capital management, and oversight of all accounting and finance functions. You will work closely with project directors and development managers to assess feasibility and funding options, support negotiations, and guide investment decisions.
Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Managing cashflow, capital structure, and investor reporting
  • Overseeing compliance, risk frameworks, and statutory requirements
  • Implementing financial systems and process optimisation
  • Partnering with stakeholders on development project financing and negotiations
  • Providing Board-ready analysis and market insights
About you
To be successful, you will be a proven senior finance leader with experience across property development, construction, or investment sectors. You will bring:
  • CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Track record as CFO or equivalent role within dynamic, high-growth organisations
  • Expertise in capital raising, investor relations, and banking negotiations
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk and returns
  • Exceptional leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
