We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join a well-established organisation within the agricultural sector, based in Melbourne CBD. This is a temporary opportunity for an initial 6-month period, with potential for extension. You’ll be joining a collaborative team focused on delivering personalised customer service while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across operations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment and enjoys being the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain real-time knowledge of product availability and dispatch capacity
  • Ensure customers have access to booking systems for timely product booking and dispatch
  • Clarify booking and load amendment processes for customers
  • Set and manage capacity and constraints within booking systems
  • Liaise with terminals and third-party logistics providers to support outbound supply
  • Respond promptly to customer queries and issues, contributing to an improved customer experience

  • Understanding of dispatch timing and mechanical processes
  • Clear and effective communication regarding terminal and dispatch capacity
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to problem-solve collaboratively
Key Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone manner
  • Proven telephone-based customer service experience
  • Service-oriented with a strong customer focus; proactive and solution-driven
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer literacy, including experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle)
  • Experience with order entry via web-based portals and following structured processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday in the office, with shifts between 7:30am and 6:00pm
  • Experience in agribusiness or bulk commodities (fertiliser, grain, chemicals, etc.) is highly regarded
  • Quality Control experience is desirable but not essential
  • Must have full working rights in Australia
