ABOUT THE ROLE
Working in the Melbourne Distribution Centre and reporting to the DC Manager, the position will focus on day-to-day warehouse outbound operations. The Despatch Manager will work closely with the warehouse staff to ensure all aspects of outbound operations are actioned. The position is more than a standard outbound position; it is an autonomous position with a range of responsibility. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated exposure to managing outbound pick management, ensuring compliance on packing orders (including food), organising high-volume delivery runs, optimising routes and leading staff. We have 2 shifts available, 4am - 12pm and 10am - 6pm.
DUTIES
• Lead a team of 5 warehouse and 13 drivers, a hands-on position leading from the front
• Ensure order picking is accurate and stock levels are correct using Odoo
• Ensure load and driver optimisation is monitored and updated through Solbox
• Work closely with the warehouse leaders on WHS, process improvement and SOP management
• Manage staffing levels, training and compliance
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated experience in outbound Warehouse management (FMCG sector exposure desirable)
• Demonstrated experience managing a fleet / high volume of deliveries
• Exposure to working with production, planning or manufacturing teams with stock projections
• Experience in cross-training, upskilling and mentoring large teams
• Previous experience managing WHS and ensuing HSE is current and implemented
