The Role
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor is responsible for creating, implementing, and improving EHS procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Working closely with the operations team, the role supports all sites in the ANZ region, as well as other regional operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advise management and safety committees on EHS matters
- Provide expertise in compliance, ergonomics, electrical and machine safety, confined spaces, and lock-out/tag-out
- Investigate incidents/injuries and present findings to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure environmental compliance (e.g. air, stormwater, hazardous materials, spill prevention)
- Conduct audits, inspections, and training to maintain compliance
- Manage injury reporting and return-to-work programs
- Oversee safety systems (fire, egress, security, parking) and emergency response
- Approve new chemicals, equipment, and processes
- Track safety metrics and support capital project reviews
- Share best practices, tools, and programs across teams
- Ensure EHS policies are integrated into new projects and operations
- Monitor regulations, develop compliance strategies, and training programs
- Engage in professional groups for benchmarking and development
The Person
You will come with a degree in an EHS related discipline and WHS qualifications (Cert IV or above desirable). Excellent communication skills will see you partner with internal and external stakeholders effectively. Experience from an industrial manufacturing environment is paramount along with experience overseeing or implementing a Formal Safety Management System, Hazard Prevention & Controls System and ISO 14001 & 45001 management.
