ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the department manager and working within a small team, you will be responsible for the
providing support to installers and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive Quality and Compliance in the field. This role will see you working to KPIs with the primary focus being improved Quality of fitment of automotive products and accessories. Ensuring seamless product integration and operation, some of the responsibilities of role will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate field Installation and training by facilitating training sessions for Field Installers and Service Partners through various delivery methods, including face-to-face (on-site or at designated facilities), and online (MS Teams)
- Conduct thorough onsite and desktop audits for installations, including reviewing photos to ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with instructions & installation procedures
- Prepare comprehensive post-training reports that summarise session content, participation, and areas for improvement
- Compile and submit detailed reports following each audit, highlighting findings, compliance issues, and recommended corrective actions
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Field Installers and Customers to ensure open communication and adherence to all system and operational compliance standards, policies, and procedures
- Undertake some hands-on field work, including installation, repairs and scheduling of work, which may be undertaken locally, regionally, interstate or internationally
SKILLS & EXPEIRENCE
We are looking for a trade qualified Automotive Electrician, who brings significant experience within installation of aftermarket accessories (navigation, audio/visual, telematics or connected vehicle technologies), ideally from a fleet or commercial vehicle background. You will understand in detail how to troubleshoot and solve issues regarding hardware, connectivity and CAN data extraction and be keen to take the next step in your career into a training & quality role, while still remaining hands on at times. Other prerequisite experience includes.
- A proven understanding of quality principles and workmanship
- A strong understanding of automotive electronics, fault finding and troubleshooting
- Previous experience providing technical training is ideal (however not essential)
- Experience delivering onsite training (preferred)
- Working within a project and or operations environment, managing communication with multiple teams including directly with clients/customers
- Experience in fitment work
