The Role
An opportunity has opened for a Financial Accountant to join our client, known for its supportive culture, flexibility, and commitment to professional development. This role suits someone strong in financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, reconciliations and payroll experience who enjoys collaborating across teams and improving processes.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Payroll preparation end-to-end, including ad hoc reporting
- Assistance with month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals
- Monthly/quarterly compliance for 10 companies, including:
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS statements and related workings
- Lodgement of superannuation
- Lodgement of payroll tax
- Lodgement of horticulture levies
- Monthly credit card reconciliations and journals
- Intercompany transactions (intercompany invoicing, cash transfers and related journals)
- Recommend process and system improvements
- Ensure compliance with statutory and internal control requirements
- Provide insightful financial analysis to senior leaders
The Person
- CPA/CA qualified or progressing. (advantageous)
- Degree qualified with 5 years’ work experience
- Strong budgeting and cost management capability
- Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
- Month-end/year-end close experience
- Payroll experience is desirable
- Advanced Excel, Experience with Microsoft Business Central, advantageous
- Payroll system knowledge - Microkeeper (preferred)
