The Role
 
As the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor you will join the team in Melbourne to oversee Victorian and Tasmanian operations and corporate. This is your opportunity to transform safety culture and create a health, safety and wellbeing framework to ensure quality compliance.
 
Reporting into the Executive General Manager of Victorian and Tasmanian Operations, your responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
 

  • Manage workplace injury and return-to-work processes, including day-to-day operations and strategic planning
  • Oversee and maintain quality and safety management systems for Victoria and Tasmania
  • Provide expert advice on health, safety, wellbeing, quality assurance, compliance, and risk management to stakeholders at all levels
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Facilitate audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, wellbeing, and quality assurance standards
  • Maintain certifications including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and AS4801
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims and liaise with stakeholders to achieve optimal return-to-work outcomes
  • Support injured workers through recovery, attend RTW meetings, develop and implement RTW plans
  • Educate leaders and collaborate with treating professionals and agents to support employee recovery
  • Partner with business managers to promote and maintain safe work practices
 
 
The Person
 
  • You will have several proven years’ experience managing health, safety, wellbeing, and quality assurance systems along with experience in RTW, Injury Management, and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum) and Return to Work certification (desired)
  • Proven skills in managing Workers Compensation claims, injury claims, and Return to Work processes
  • Strong ability to build and maintain stakeholder and client relationships (clients, staff, business managers)
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
 
This role is based in Port Melbourne with required onsite presence, it involves periodic intrastate and interstate travel. You will be required to have a current drivers licence. You must be capable of effective safety planning, multitasking, and managing time efficiently across multiple portfolios whilst working independently and under pressure.
