About the Opportunity
Are you ready to step into a pivotal HR leadership position with a respected, long-standing manufacturing business? Our client is seeking a hands-on, operational HR Manager to join their team during a period of exciting transformation, including an office relocation and a renewed focus on safety, engagement, and learning. Working full time or 4 days per week, this is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact, working closely with both local and global leadership while supporting a diverse workforce.
About the Role
As the HR Manager, you’ll be a true generalist, responsible for the full spectrum of HR and payroll activities. You’ll play a key role in uplifting employee engagement, driving learning and development initiatives, and strengthening workplace safety. Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading operational HR, including recruitment, onboarding, ER/IR case management, and compliance
- Championing OHS and safety training, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Coaching and supporting managers on employee matters
- Overseeing the payroll function (alongside the Payroll Officer) and HR systems (SuccessFactors & Micropay)
- Supporting communication of positive change and business transformation
- Supporting group learning workshops and digital learning initiatives
About You
You are a high-energy, approachable HR leader who thrives in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehousing environment. You’re known for your ability to connect with people at all levels, adapt your communication style, and roll up your sleeves to get things done. Your background includes:
- Proven experience in operational HR management, ideally in manufacturing or a similar setting
- Must have a strong OHS and safety training expertise
- A track record of uplifting employee engagement and driving learning & development
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the confidence to coach and guide managers
- A practical, down-to-earth approach to building relationships
- Willingness to get involved in everything from strategy to BBQs and team event
- Boost employee engagement by implementing meaningful initiatives and fostering genuine connections
