The Role

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out routine and specialised testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and internal quality requirements. You will also support research and development initiatives, maintain laboratory standards, and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical and mechanical testing of materials and finished products
• Perform raw material evaluations, substance testing, and assist with product trials
• Prepare and mix additives or treatments for development activities
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with NATA standards
• Record and maintain accurate test results and documentation
• Contribute to R&D projects and support continuous improvement initiatives

• Certificate III/IV in Laboratory Techniques or a related science qualification (Bachelor/Diploma in Science, Ceramics, or Materials Science desirable)
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and WHS compliance
• Experience in conducting laboratory testing, recording results and maintaining data integrity
• Proficiency with computers and data entry systems
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
