ABOUT THE COMPANY
A leading Australian provider of sterilisation and decontamination services, supporting industries including healthcare, medical, agriculture, and quarantine with advanced processing solutions. With over 40 years of industry expertise, the business is recognised for its innovation, technical capability, and commitment to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes for customers across Australia and globally.

ABOUT THE ROLE
A newly created Maintenance Manager position, responsible for end-to-end maintenance across a critical industrial processing site in Mickleham (on-site). This is a hands-on, stand-alone role to start with an opportunity to build a team over time, reporting directly to the General Manager and supporting safe, reliable, compliant operations.

DUTIES
• Own the site’s maintenance function end-to-end (hands-on): plan and execute preventative and reactive maintenance across plant, equipment and site infrastructure, troubleshoot breakdowns, coordinate repairs, and drive uptime improvements in a safety-critical environment
• Build and run a practical maintenance system: establish maintenance schedules, critical spares, work order discipline, service records, contractor management, and clear routines that reduce downtime and improve reliability (without overcomplicating things)
• Lead compliance and risk controls for maintenance activities: ensure maintenance practices meet safety and environmental requirements, manage permits/isolations/LOTO expectations, and keep documentation and standards audit-ready in partnership with internal stakeholders
• Partner with operations to lift performance: work closely with production/operations leaders to prioritise work, plan shutdown windows, identify recurring issues, and implement continuous improvements that improve throughput, safety, and cost control

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Trade-backed maintenance capability (highly desirable): mechanical fitting/turning (or closely aligned) with strong practical troubleshooting skills across industrial equipment and systems
• Proven maintenance leadership in a site-based environment: experience running maintenance in manufacturing / processing / industrial settings, including planning, preventative maintenance programs, contractor coordination, and pragmatic prioritisation under pressure
• Strong safety and compliance mindset: demonstrated ability to manage maintenance risk (isolations / LOTO, safe systems of work, contractor safety, documentation) and operate effectively in regulated, safety-first workplaces
• Commercial and operational thinking: able to balance uptime, cost, quality and risk; confident communicating with senior stakeholders, reporting on maintenance performance, and building a case for improvements, spares, and future resourcing

COMPANY CULTURE
This is a family-owned, proudly Australian organisation where integrity, commitment, and genuine care for people are central to how they operate. The culture is strongly aligned to safety, quality, innovation and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering excellent service while maintaining a safe, supportive work environment.

BENEFITS
• Newly created role with real autonomy to set the maintenance standard and make visible, site-wide impact
• Permanent, full-time position on-site in Mickleham, reporting directly to the General Manager
• Competitive salary on offer, based on experience
• Future growth runway as the function develops, with scope to add resources over time
