Leading Australian company specialising in the design, sale and manufacturing of large scale technical and fabricated products are looking to appoint an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer with established SolidWorks skills to their team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Produce engineering designs, drawings and documentation, based on equipment specifications and performance requirements, to meet customer specifications
• Prepare 3D model workshop manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks) for both standard and custom products
• Develop models / drawings ensuring all issued conform to drawing standards that support customer specification and production requirements, modify and update models / drawings as required
• Facilitates the design of new products, equipment or modifying existing products, equipment considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical factors
• Review and development of designs to suit Australian Design Regulations and undertake associated FEA analysis
• Provide technical and process support to Production as required. This may include the documentation of procedures, Engineering Instructions and quality control
• Confers with sales/engineering/manufacturing/operational personnel etc. to clarify or resolve problems and produce accurate and clear engineering documentation
• Produce product or system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics with associated full bills of materials including technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process
To be considered for this role, you will be a tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineer who has well-developed SolidWorks skills (you will be tested). The ideal candidate will have worked in the heavy fabrication sector, ideally with pressure vessels or heavy manufacturing, etc. You will be a self-starter and be keen to join an established team to continue your growth. As a down to earth professional, it is expected that you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player and have excellent time management skills.
