A growing business, this ISO accredited company manufactures and supplies a wide range of high-quality engineered industrial products to a variety of industries for use in the industrial, infrastructure and domestic markets. With an ever-expanding footprint, to support their growth, they are in the market to appoint a new Mechanical Design Engineer to their team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
To be considered for this role, you will be a tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineer who has established CAD skills (within SolidWorks & AutoCAD) and used the software within industry, not just at university. Please keep in mind that you will be tested. The ideal candidate will have worked in the engineering sector or a similar technical manufacturing environment. You will be a self-starter and be keen to join an established team to continue your growth. As a down-to-earth individual, it is expected that you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player and have excellent time management skills.

Technical Manufacturing – Building Sector

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Create detailed 3D CAD models of their existing product range, using Solidworks
- Translate those 3D CAD models into high quality 2D drafts suitable for manufacturing
- Provide sound mechanical designs for new products as well as updates and improvements to existing products
- Perform calculations to validate designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Produce bill of materials and build specifications required for manufacturing
- Provide technical support to customers and other internal departments
- Update or create technical documentation such as user manuals, risk assessments, reports, technical datasheets, procedures, testing and commissioning plans
