The Role
 
As the National Account Manager, you will drive growth and profitability across key categories and national retail accounts by delivering best-practice account management and executing the company’s strategic plan. Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Build and manage range plans (promotional and baseline) and contribute to customer business reviews
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to drive category and account growth
  • Monitor and manage quality performance (trackers, supplier compliance, complaints / non-conformances), in collaboration with QA and Operations
  • Oversee weekly ordering, inventory management and customer portals (quoting, product setup and cost submissions)
  • Manage pricing and product costings (COGS), monitor margin performance, and provide basic financial reporting commentary
  • Coordinate key operational requirements, including freight schedule impacts, new product activity and artwork approvals
  • Maintain strong supplier and customer relationships, with clear, proactive communication
  • Support the broader team through collaboration, continuous improvement and adherence to company systems and policies
 
 
The Person
 
With a Tertiary qualification preferred, you will have account management experience, ideally in freight / cartage (sea & air) and an understanding of local and international trade terms. You’re confident with inventory and finance systems including strong Excel skills, experience with Qlik / Power BI, fresh produce, and leading change is a plus.
 
You’re organised, process-driven and customer focused, with strong communication and negotiation skills. You can analyse and reconcile data, identify improvements, and troubleshoot system issues to find practical solutions. Able to work to deadlines under pressure, coach others, learn Pick2Market/ERP systems quickly, and travel as required.
