ABOUT THE ROLE
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a national linehaul network, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of freight across multiple regions. Working closely with operational stakeholders, you will drive route optimisation, fleet performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with transport regulations and safety standards. The position also provides the opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing team, implementing innovative processes and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
DUTIES
• Manage national day-to-day linehaul operations to ensure service levels, delivery timelines, and operational objectives are consistently achieved
• Evaluate network performance and freight flows to identify opportunities for improved utilisation, productivity, and cost control
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, drivers, and external partners to support seamless freight movement nationwide
• Lead incident resolution and contingency planning to minimise operational disruptions and maintain customer satisfaction
• Prepare operational reports, forecasts, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated experience in a national linehaul, fleet management, or transport operations leadership role within the logistics industry
• Strong knowledge of transport networks, route planning, and operational efficiency strategies across multi-site environments
• Proven ability to analyse operational data, interpret performance metrics, and implement improvements that deliver measurable results
• Highly developed problem-solving and strategic planning skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams
