About the opportunity
We are partnering exclusively with a growing business to appoint an experienced Payroll Manager into a permanent leadership role reporting directly to the CFO. They are also open to a 6 month fixed term contract for the right person in the interim.
A payroll system implementation is already underway and needs to be streamlined and brought to completion. This role exists to take ownership, cut through the complexity and set the payroll function up for best practice. The role
- Lead, develop and mentor a small payroll team across daily operations
- Manage an ANZ payroll for approximately 1800 employees, across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay runs
- Take ownership of a payroll system migration currently underway and drive it to completion
- Manage the outsourced payroll provider relationship, driving performance and accountability
- Implement SOPs, checklists and reconciliation procedures to ensure accurate, on-time pay runs
- Own ANZ payroll compliance, EA agreements, STP, Payday Super, WGEA and ATO obligations
- Maintain audit-ready controls, policies and documentation
- Deliver payroll data and reporting to finance, EOM, labour budgets and remuneration reviews
- Partner with operational teams and HR, providing training and support on payroll matters
- Proven experience leading payroll teams with a track record of holding internal and external parties to account
- Hands-on experience managing complex payroll system implementations
- Deep knowledge of ANZ payroll compliance, legislation and governance
- Strong stakeholder management, confident engaging from the operations to the CFO
- Action and outcome focused, you move with urgency and get things done
- Tenacious and resilient, comfortable driving change in a complex, fast-moving environment
