ABOUT THE COMPANY
With a strong reputation for quality, service and support of their customers, our client has an enviable market position and with ongoing support, is set to enjoy both growth and expansion in the coming years. They operate an ever-expanding purpose-built facility in Derrimut, but service clients nationwide, undertaking projects within the heavy engineering sector supporting a variety of essential industries. Due to a recent promotion, they are looking to appoint a suitably experienced and passionate Product Support Engineer to join their team.
 
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Engineering Manager your position will focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions to their clients. In this client facing role, you will play a crucial role in offering technical expertise to the customer post equipment sale to troubleshoot and enhance existing control systems, leveraging customer information to aid in designing and optimising technology.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to.
  • Provide technical support across all control systems (PLC’s, sensors etc.) resolving issues efficiently while adhering to the company’s warranty claim structures and procedures
  • Act as the primary engineering and relational interface between the company and customers post-sale
  • Design and develop engineering kit sets, providing remote installation support to customers
  • Manage warranty activities, including identifying technical problems, analysing claims, issuing reports, handling customer complaints, and collaborating with engineering teams and customers for resolution
  • Lead project activities, including commissioning, appraisals, warranty repairs, and chargeable repairs to equipment
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders via phone and other communication channels to resolve technical issues, reporting outcomes to senior management
 
SKILLS & EXPEIRENCE
To be considered for this role, you will bring.
  • A degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or related Engineering studies
  • Sound Experience in PLC programming/diagnostics (Ladder Logic, HMI Design, Structured Text)
  • Proven record in fault finding, training operators, successful customer interactions and managing repair and commissioning projects remotely
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Any knowledge of pneumatic and/or hydraulic circuits would be beneficial
