Our client is one of Victoria`s fastest growing wharf transport companies. Located in Truganina in Melbourne's west, they boast one of the largest fleet of vehicles offering a wide range of services.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a skilled Transport Manager to become a key part of their fast-paced logistics team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in container transport, a strong understanding of freight tracking systems, and a proven ability to manage operations within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
DUTIES
• Manage container transport schedules, dispatch, and freight tracking
• Ensure compliance with regulations, licences, and vehicle requirements
• Lead and support the transport team, driving performance and improvements
• Build strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal teams
• Track and report on costs, efficiency, and operational performance
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experienced in structuring operational teams, setting workflows, delegating tasks, and tracking performance
• Solid knowledge of transport laws, driver regulations, licensing, vehicle upkeep, and safety compliance
• Proficient with freight management and tracking software
• Strong leader and communicator, managing drivers, staff, and coordinating with clients and carriers
• Monitor KPIs, improve efficiency, and control costs in logistics operations
