Our client is one of Victoria`s fastest growing wharf transport companies. Located in Truganina in Melbourne's west, they boast one of the largest fleet of vehicles offering a wide range of services.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a skilled Transport Scheduler to manage day‑to‑day container transport scheduling along with coordinating a busy sideloader fleet. You’ll be working in a fast paced environment where strong planning, clear communication, and a solid understanding of Melbourne metro logistics, delivery windows, and Freight Tracker systems are essential to keeping their operations running smoothly.
DUTIES
• Coordinate a fleet of sideloaders according to delivery needs, locations, and timing.
• Improve fleet performance by minimising toll costs, driver idle time, and maximising backloads.
• Prevent container demurrage by completing deliveries and dehires within free‑time windows.
• Liaise with customer service to verify all delivery instructions.
• Track schedule updates and act quickly on delays or urgent changes.
• Maintain adherence to fatigue rules, safety standards, and transport legislation.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Background in container transport scheduling or sideloader fleet coordination, with Freight Tracker experience valued.
• Strong planning, problem‑solving, and communication abilities, with the capacity to manage pressure and shifting priorities.
• Solid knowledge of transport operations, delivery windows, route planning, and Melbourne metro suburbs including key toll routes.
• Able to stay organised, meet deadlines, and handle fast-paced, changing environments
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
HOURS
8.00am - 5.00pm Monday-Friday (Weekends WFH on monthly rotation)
Weekend on monthly rotation:
This shift involves Fleet controlling wharf and delivery fleet from 6am-3pm Saturdays. It will be 1 in 5 Saturdays.
