The Role
 
As the WHS Advisor / Officer you will report to the General Manager – PSC. You will have good working knowledge of WHS principles and risk management and assist in fielding daily queries.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
 

  • Provide day-to-day safety support across all sites, including warehouse and branch locations (Majority of this is virtual support)
  • Monitor and respond to workplace incidents, hazards, and near misses, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up of corrective actions
  • Assist site managers and supervisors with safety-related queries and practical support
  • Conduct and review site safety inspections & compliance registers
  • Maintain the WHS Registers: Incident, CARs, Hazards, RTW, Training register
  • Create Safety Alerts
  • Create monthly Safety Committee packs & attend meetings to take minutes / assist with actions
  • Conduct and or assist in investigations under guidance from GM-PSC or CEO (as needed)
  • Support injury management and return-to-work coordination
  • Promote wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a psychologically safe workplace
  • Provide general WHS administrative support
  • Ability to assist with safety Improvement plan initiatives – Dangerous Goods project, Wellbeing initiatives
 
 
The Person
 
Located in Truganina this is an onsite role for the first month, hybrid arrangements considered thereafter. The role is for approximately 2-3 months, you will be required to have an Australian drivers license and come with experience from industries such as manufacturing, logistics, distribution etc. Other areas of importance include:
 
  • Relevant WHS qualifications (Cert IV or above desirable)
  • Injury management and RTW experience (highly regarded)
  • Mental Health First Aid accreditation (an advantage)
  • Confident communicator with a practical, hands-on approach
  • ELMO experience an advantage but not necessary
